  • Grade: Hachikyu - 8th kyu (八級) Yellow Belt one stripe
  • Grade: Shichikyu - 7th kyu (七級) Yellow belt two stripes
  • Grade: Rokyu - 6th kyu (六級) Green belt
  • Grade: Gokyu - 5th kyu (五級) Green belt one stripe
